FG Approves Promotion Of 95 Senior NCoS, NIS, Other Officers
As Recruitment Begins July 14 The Federal Government has approved the promotion of ninety-five top management officers in four paramilitary agencies under the Ministry of Interior.
The agencies include the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Federal Fire Service (FFS), and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
This was disclosed by the Secretary to the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), Major General A.M. Jibril (Rtd.), on behalf of the Board Chairman, Hon. (Dr.) Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on Friday, July 11, 2025, at the Board Secretariat in Abuja.
According to Maj. Gen. Jibril, the promotions span across the ranks of Controllers/Comptrollers/Commandants to Assistant Controllers/Comptrollers/Commandants-General.
The breakdown of the promoted officers is as follows:
Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS)—Assistant Controller-General (ACG) to Deputy Controller-General (DCG): 4 and Controller of Corrections (CC) to ACG: 31
Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) —ACG to DCG: 6 and Comptroller of Immigration (CI) to ACG: 20
Federal Fire Service (FFS) —ACG to DCG: 3and Controller to ACG: 2
Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) —ACG to DCG: 3 and Commandant to ACG: 22
The Board, at its 03-25 meeting, also approved the constitution of a committee to develop a harmonised Scheme of Service for the four agencies.
